IcyHeart at BIBE 2012

Nov 06, 2012

The IEEE 12th International Conference on BioInformatics and BioEngineering will be held in Larnaca, Cyprus, from 11th to 13th of November, 2012. The conference covers complementary disciplines that hold great promise for the advancement of research and development in complex medical and biological systems. Research and development in these areas are impacting the science and technology in the medical field by advancing fundamental concepts in molecular biology and in medicine and by improving tools and techniques for the detection, prevention and treatment of diseases.

IcyHeart partners will present two works at the venue, which will be included in the conference proceedings.
The first contribution, titled: “IcyHeart: Highly integrated ultra-low-power SoC solution for unobtrusive and energy efficient wireless cardiac monitoring”, while give a broad overview of the IcyHeart SoC, the first single-die system integrating an multiple-channel analog front-end, a low-power DSP and a radio interface, targeting Wireless Body Sensor Nodes (WBSN) applications.
The second contribution, titled: “Embedded Real-Time ECG Delineation Methods: a Comparative Evaluation” will explore different automated ECG filtering and delineation method considered for implementation on the IcyHeart platform.

Abstracts of the papers are available here.

The IcyHeart project has received funding form the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (Capacities, Research for the Benefit of SMEs) managed by REA – Research Executive Agency under Grant Agreement No. 286130.
