Jul 16, 2012

BODYNETS 2012, the 7th International Conference on Body Area Networks will be held during 24-26 September 2012 in Oslo, Norway. The conference will explore and explain the scope and challenges of designing, building and deploying Body Area Networks (BodyNets). The mission of the conference is to share novel basic research ideas as well as experimental applications in the BodyNets area. For more information please visit: http://bodynets.org/2012

Prof. David Atienza of EPFL will give a keynote speech at the conference with the title “Towards the Design of Smart Ultra-Low-Power Systems for Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSN)”. His speech addresses system-level design of next-generation smart WBSN platforms for personal health monitoring systems, and discusses the main design challenges of this type of emerging body-monitoring systems. To illustrate the effectiveness of this approach, his talk focuses on electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring applications, such as the one developed in the IcyHeart project.

The abstract of the keynote speech is available here.

The IcyHeart project has received funding form the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (Capacities, Research for the Benefit of SMEs) managed by REA – Research Executive Agency under Grant Agreement No. 286130.
